Dear Single Mom, You're Doing Better Than You Think
If nobody has told you lately, let me be the first:
You're doing better than you think.
I know it doesn't always feel that way.
You look around and see everything that still needs to be done. The bills that need to be paid. The laundry that's piling up. The appointments you need to schedule. The goals you haven't reached yet.
You replay the moments you lost your patience.
You question whether you're giving your children enough.
You wonder if they'll remember the struggles more than the sacrifices.
But here's what I want you to know:
Your children are not measuring you by your mistakes.
They're measuring you by your presence.
The Things They Will Remember
They'll remember that you showed up.
They'll remember the late-night conversations.
They'll remember the way you celebrated their victories.
They'll remember how safe they felt when life got scary.
They'll remember the times you kept going, even when you were exhausted.
They won't remember every bill you worried about.
They won't remember every meal that wasn't Pinterest-perfect.
They won't remember the days you felt like you were failing.
They'll remember your love.
Survival Mode Doesn't Last Forever
Many single moms spend years in survival mode.
Working.
Providing.
Sacrificing.
Giving everyone else the best of themselves while surviving on whatever is left.
And while survival mode may be necessary for a season, it was never meant to be your permanent address.
One day you'll look up and realize you're no longer just surviving.
You're healing.
You're growing.
You're building.
You're becoming.
Give Yourself Credit
Give yourself credit for the things nobody sees:
✔️ The sacrifices you make behind closed doors.
✔️ The prayers you whisper when your kids are asleep.
✔️ The tears you wipe away before walking back into the room.
✔️ The strength it takes to carry responsibilities that were never meant for one person.
✔️ The courage it takes to keep showing up.
You deserve credit for all of it.
From One Single Mom to Another
At Single Mommas Unfiltered, we believe in keeping it real.
Some days are beautiful.
Some days are messy.
Some days you're thriving.
Some days you're just trying to make it to bedtime.
And all of that is okay.
You don't have to be perfect.
You just have to keep going.
Because every day you choose to show up for yourself and your children, you're already winning.
You're Not Alone
If you're reading this and feeling overwhelmed, take a deep breath and remember:
You are not behind.
You are not failing.
You are not alone.
You are a single mom doing the best she can with what she has—and that's something to be proud of.
Keep going, Momma. We've got you. ❤️
